Massive irregularities in construction of SDM office building, CM to inaugurate on Nov 4

AGARTALA, Oct 29 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar all set to inaugurate the newly built SDM office at Jirania, in spite of report massive irregularities in construction. The state government will bear expenditure of the inauguration programme. Hectic campaign is carried regarding the visit of chief minister. Series of officer level meeting are being held to make the programme a grand success.

But no action is taken  against the accused involved in financial embezzlement while constructing the building. Once of the accused is reportedly have returned  from tour from Delhi and Gangtok, some have procured luxurious flats outside the state.

On November 4, Sarkar will inaugurate the new SDM building. For last few years Jirania has beceme a hub for anti – social elements and criminal activities. It was here two tribal youth- Rabi and Liton was brutally murdered on broad day light. No justice was delivered till date, besides the administration put the murder incident in back burner terming it as road accident.The accused involved in the murder is roaming freely.     

The  notorious miscreants of Jirania are getting all time support from ruling CPI(M). They have unleashed a reign of terror in the entire area. Common people of the area are in constant fear of any kind  untoward incidents.

For last few years Sarkar did not visit the area, he every time skipped visiting Jirania. On November 4, he is going to inaugurate black building. Then chief engineer of RD department T K Debnath once directed to dismantle a section of the building after irregularities in construction was detected.  After transfer of Debnath the dismantling order was cancelled by the new  chief engineer.

There are reports of massive corruption in constructing the building. Reportedly, only 5 lakh rupees was spent for internal wiring and other electric gadgets. But the actual budget was Rs 60 lakh, by fake master roll the entire amount was siphoned off.
