AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Tripura Traffic on Monday night managed to grab hold of a thief loitering among the crowd to snatch valuable items.
People where busy in enjoying the Durga Puja celebration, pick-pocketers, snatchers and thieves are loitering all across the capital.
Reportedly, after interrogating for several hours the thief finally said that he is a resident of Bangladesh from Kumulailla District. He came to India with an aim to theft during the Durga Puja tenure.
It is suspected that there can be more miscreants from Bangladesh who are loitering for a chance to snatch huge amount and to return back to Bangladesh.
Though the authority is keeping strict vigilance in the crowded areas of the Capital Pickpocketers and snatchers are loitering. These things happen every year. With the approaching of puja the snatch and theft cases increases.
Police personnel have been conducting raids in several places mostly the shops of the crowded market which includes GB Bazaar, Battala Market and MG Bazaar and have ceased huge amount liquors from the shops.
Despite of several initiatives thieves are loitering around freely with the aim to steal goods from the houses when the members of the houses are asleep.
The raid has been conducted with an aim to curb the illegal sale of liquors in the market ahead of Durga Puja. During the raid the bottles of illegal liquors are being destroyed.
