25 hospitals finalised as referral hospitals

AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): With an aim to provide health assistance to the poor people of the State, 25 hospitals has been finalised as referral hospitals under Tripura Health Assurance for Poor.

According to the official report, earlier for any kind of serious and important treatment poor people there were only seven hospitals in the list of State Government. The poor beneficiaries could be referred to any of the seven hospitals but with the increase in the number of referral hospitals the poor will get better facility.  

However, for the treatment in the hospital where the doctors refers the patients, the beneficiary receives Rs. 1.25 lakh.

According to the official report, the families with the monthly income of less than Rs. 12, 000 are benefited under this scheme.

A total of 97 poor people were benefited under this scheme during the financial year 2013-14 and 119 poor people are in the year 2014-15. However, in the current financial year till now 98 people got financial assistance from the State Government.

 It has been further mentioned that if any treatment has been done from out of the enlisted Hospitals, with the submission of the receipt copy of the bill the beneficiary family will receive the Rs. 1.25 lakh.

In a year only one member of a family can get the benefit of the scheme. The final list of the name of the hospital will be informed later.

Some of the names are- All India Institute of Medical Science of Delhi, Safdarjang Hospital of Delhi, L V Prasad of Hyderabad, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and many other is enlist as referral hospital.
