Theme based puja pandals continue to cater huge crowd across the city

AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): From abstract art to riddles, from environmental issues to the mysteries of the cosmos, theme-based community Durga Puja pandals’s continue to attract footfalls in all parts of the Agartala city.

Although Durga Puja festivities are yet to begin officially, but people are flocking to Chatrobondhu club to catch a glimpse of the puja pandal depicting the theme of old age homes.

The craze for novelty is such that Sanghati club, famous for its traditional Puja, came up with the theme of Nepal’s Pashupati temple with thermocool top attract large number of gatherings. As expected, people have already started visiting then pandal from the Panchami night to take a view of the Nepal’s famous Pashupati temple.

Carrying the tradition forward, another crowd welcoming theme based puja temple is of Joynagar Yuva Samaj which has taken the initiative to give the touch of Haridwar at Agartala. With the aim to give a chance to the people of Agartala to visit Haridwar, Yuva Samaj has taken this initiative.

Another big crowd-puller this year is the puja pandal of Bharat Ratna club which has a record of constructing the heavy weight pandal every year. Similarly, like every other year, this year also Bharat Ratna club has depicted the replica of Holy shrine of Vaishno Devi temple.  Within the pandal premises are the images of three deities Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasaraswati.

Similarly, a visit to Mouchak club will give you a message that ‘God is one’. The pandal decorated with bamboo includes the symbols of religion of Hindu, Muslim and Christianity.

However, there are also club across the city which believes only in simplicity and believes that the like all other theme based club, crowd will also throng at this club with the progressing of the days.

Durga Puja is a yearly Hindu festival that marks the celebration of Hindu Goddess Durga. Durga Puja is celebrated to symbolize the victory of goddess Durga over Mahishasura. It is the festival to celebrate the happiness of good’s win over evil. Durga Puja is a common festival in India and is celebrated in almost all the states. However, it is celebrated widely in the states of Assam, Bihar, Jharakhand, Manipur, Odisha, Tripura and West Bengal.
