Tripura celebrates over 2500 Durga Pujas this year, confirms Tripura Police

AGARTALA, Oct 20 (TIWN): Altogether 257 Durga Puja will be celebrated in Agartala City, this year. A total of 730 Puja Pandals will be observed this year in the West District of Tripura, according to the report of Tripura Police. Detailing about the total number of Puja pandal, out of 730 pandals, 511 will be observed in the urban areas of the West District. Besides, 219 pandals are in the Rural Areas of the District. However, in the state about 2500 Puja are likely to be celebrated this year. Huge crowd has been observed from the day of Panchami, people all across the state geared up to visit the Puja pandals which are decorated theme based to attract the crowd.Traffic Department where decided to put No-entry on the various crowded roads on October 20 onwards had to put the No-Entry board from October 18 last in many areas. Altogether 2000 police personals are all set to keep strict vigilance to ensure peaceful observance during the Puja tenure.In order to ensure a peaceful Puja celebration, Tripura police station stepped up in full-swing for the surveillance of the areas all across the state. Besides, bomb squads with sniffer dog will be patrolling all across the capital as a part of surveillance. To avoid untoward incidence in the capital and to ensure pick-pocketing free Celebration of Durga Puja, 17 CCTVs has been installed in front of major community puja pandals.

Besides, in order to keep close surveillance, metal detectors are installed in the major Puja pandals. CCTV camera will be very important for the safety of people, as during festival time pick-pocketers increase at a high.

However, BSF has been asked to maintain strict surveillance in entire stretch of Indo-Bangla border along with Tripura.As many as 23 watch tower has been installed all across the capital to keep a strict vigilance during the Puja celebration. 

Adequate number of metal detectors and drop gates would be there as part of tight security measures.

About 20 drop gates has been erected to regulate Traffic and also for checking of vehicles when needed. About 25 Police assistance booths have also been installed.

Moreover, plain clothed security personnel have also been deployed to maintain watch on the movement of known suspects, antisocial and others.
