AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): On the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja 2015, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar extended his warm greetings to all the citizens.
"Goddess Durga is the embodiment of Shakti. She is the divine feminine force that governs all cosmic creation, existence and change. Durga Puja celebrates the triumph of righteousness over evil which would remain so for all time to come and exhorted the people to be truthful and honest”, said Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
In his message, Chief Minister expressed hope that the festival would be celebrated under a spirit of unity, communal harmony and peace. May this festival help us rise above all man-made divides and spread peace, happiness and prosperity in our country.
Durga Puja festival is celebrated from the sixth to tenth day of bright lunar fortnight in the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin.
The first day of the celebration starts with Bodhon on Maha-Shashti, which is like welcoming Goddess Durga and ends with immersing the idols in the nearby rivers, lakes and seas on the evening of Dashami.
