SANTIRBAZAR, Oct 17 (TIWN): MP Jiten Chowdhury stressed on quality education in schools and said that dearth of good people engaged in society building contributed to continued rise in immoral activities.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Dhananjoy Smriti Kokborok Library at BC Manu by Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), Mp Jiten Choudhury said that the state government is attaching high important to developing quality of education in the schools. "There is much higher need of truly educated people in the society than academic degree organized scholars. The state's indigenous population lagged backwards in education owing to the once-acute armed insurgency crisis in the hilly terrains of Tripura. The problem was largely contained in the past two decades of Left Front rule. Much still needs to be done", the MP said.
The Dhananjoy Smriti Kokborok Library inaugurated today is a double storied building in a sprawling landscape with a fund of Rs. 1 crore. ADC Executive Member Prakhrit Murasing chaired the chief guest while Sabhapati Executive Member of ADC Sanjib Marak ,MLA Basudeb Majumder,MLA Jasbir Tripura, Amardip Debbarma,Director of Education TTAADC and others were present.
The new facility has got separate library room, stack rooms, librarians room, conference halls etc.
ADC Executive Mmeber Prakhrit Murasing today said that the district council administration is stressing on expansion of education in the rural areas. He suggested students to grow the habit of reading beside textbook syllabi. He also said that vested interests are trying to deviate the youths from constructive paths. "We have to ensure struggle against distorted culture", he added.
