AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): After getting stern warning from high court at last state police have risen to action. Lot of cases are pending in the court against police refusal of registering FIRs. Even chief justice Deepak Gupta took some suo motto cases and warned the state police. Some officers were even summoned in court for not taking FIRs.
As per direction of high court, training for officers – in – charge of all police station have begun on registering FIRs. In the training they are taught which laws to follow while registering FIRs. Under which circumstances police can register a suo motto case. The training are imparted by Principal of KTD Singh police training academy Sankar Debnath, DSP Chanu Chandra Das and chief law instructor Utpal Mazumder.
The training have started from this month. It will held in all districts. The first training was held at Gomati district police super conference hall on October 2. It was attended OC’s of all police stations. On October 5 the training was held at Sepahijala district, October 7 at Dhalai district. In the training OC are told to register an FIR without fail.
The central government have issued circulars to all chief secretaries of the state’s to ensure that all police stations registers an FIR for any kind of crime. The circular stressed that all police stations ensures that FIR are registered.
Another serious allegation is that if any crime is committed anywhere in the state but police station declines to register an FIR. The victims are told to register the complain in the police station where the incident have occurred.
And this is against law according to supreme court, the victim can register FIR any police station. The FIR then will be transferred to the concerned police station.This is also violated which needed to be stopped.
