KAMALPUR, Oct 15, (TIWN): The Halhali-Fatikroy and Manikbhnader-Khowai NEC roads though opened up with new possibilities of communication and transportation in the state, but in reality, it creates much ado of transportation.

Although the hilly tracts of NEC roads made the communication and transportation very smooth and fine but the sheer reluctance from the competent authority made the road deplorable.

Each and every day hundreds of loaded trucks and vehicles move through the roads, from Kumarghat to Agartala through Kamalpur and Khowai. On the narrow strip of roads, those vehicles move in high speed and without caring for the safety and security of the road. And the PWD(R&B) authority as well as the traffic units never bothered to control the movement.

Moreover, police are often found sitting by the road side to check vehicles, they only remained busy in pocketing money from bike riders and personal car owners.

In this regard the high speed loaded vehicles caused great threat to the roads and makes the roads more deplorable day by day.
