Tripura police intensified their vigilance to ensure safe Puja

AGARTALA, Oct 15 (TIWN): With the State decked up for the ensuing Durga Puja celebration, Tripura police on Wednesday intensified their vigil to ensure safety during five-day festival along with bomb detection, disposal and sniffer dog squads. As before, city police have been gearing up to put in place elaborate security measures for the puja over the months. With counting days left for the auspicious occasion to begin, Tripura Police gears up for security check at the Motor stands of the State capital. Besides, security initiatives have been taken in the major pandals of the capital including Motorstand, Battala, Chandrapur Bus Stand, Radha Nagar Bus Stand, TRTC and in major and crowded areas of the capital. From putting up watch towers and check posts at strategically important spots in the capital, around 2000 police personals will be deployed during the Puja tenure. In order to ensure a peaceful Puja celebration, all the police station of the State mostly in the capital have stepped up in full-swing for the surveillance of the areas all across the state. Besides, bomb detection squads with sniffer dog have been patrolling all across the capital as a part of surveillance. It mentioned that the vigilance to ensure safety celebration of the auspicious Durga Puja will continue during the Puja tenure.
The security personnel, equipped with sophisticated arms, electronic gadgets and binoculars, will be positioned in many watch towers in Agartala and different parts of the bordering state.

However, around 23 watch tower will be installed all across the capital to keep a strict vigilance during the Puja celebration. Besides, adequate number of metal detectors and drop gates would be intalled as part of tight security measures.

Close Circuit TV (CCTVs) are being installed at sensitive and crowded locations while people at big puja venues will have to pass through metal detectors.

Keeping in mind the security measures for the puja celebration, huge number of police and TSR were being deployed to maintain peace in the State. Besides, to ensure proper security and to keep strict vigilance across the State the police personals will be deployed in plain clothes.

However, pandals decorators are all set to meet the dead line. Preparations are going on in full fledged, pandals are lighted with colourful bulbs and people are busy in shopping the latest trend.
