Range Officer suspends 26 general workers

UDAIPUR, Oct 15 (TIWN): In a major setback, Range Officer Uttam Das suspended 26 General Workers from the Forest Department of Udaipur Sub-division without giving any proper explanation.

Agitated workers on Wednesday placed deputation to DFO Ratan Das demanding for proper explanation of their suspension. Besides, they said that the sudden suspension from the 15 years old job has created problem for their livelihood.

They further said that Range Officer Uttam Das has called them on Tuesday and said that they are suspended from their job and don’t have to come for work from Wednesday onwards.  

It has been mentioned that on Tuesday Range Officer Uttam Das informed them that from Wednesday onwards the General Workers don’t have to come to work. When they asked the reason behind, he just said that the order came from the higher authority.

Altogether 37 General Workers were appointed by the DFO several years ago. Among them eight workers has got permanent job in the Department. They further alleged that no proper process has been maintained during the recruitment of the eight members.

They demanded to give proper reasons of the suspension and to provide their salary on time. They also complained that earlier also the department has delayed to provide them the salary of five months which has created problem them.

“This is our only livelihood, if the Department suddenly decide to suspend us with any prior notice, how will we manage our family”, said a worker. They have been working here for prolonged many days.

Altogether 26 general workers were working at Tepania Eco-Park, some at DFO office and some in elsewhere in the Sub-Division.  

However, the workers also demanded to pay their salary of 13 days and said that if their demands are not fulfilled then they will be bound to take major protest.
