Gomati District Police gears up to tighten security measures during Puja hour

AGARTALA, October 12 (TIWN): In order to ensure peaceful and secure Durga Puja celebration, Police administration of Gomati District is all set to keep strict vigilance in the area.

Reportedly, around 500 police personals and TSR jawans will be deployed all across the sub-division during the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja.

Altogether eight watch towers along with CCTV cameras will be set to keep a strict vigilance during the Puja tenure, to keep eye on any kind of untoward incident. Besides, around 14 drop gates will be set to keep check on the vehicles, including heavy vehicles, bikes, and other vehicles.

Five booth stations will be set up to control the drop gates. About 24 traffic points will control the vehicular movement of Udaipur town.

On the other hand 4 watch towers and 2 booth stations will be set up at Kakraban to make the puja safe, secured and peaceful.

According to the sources, 14 fixed points will be setup and 5 mobile vans will engaged to maintain safety and security. Eight fixed pickets controlled by R.K. Pur Police Station and Killa Police Station will look after the security of Killa area.

Besides, fixed pickets of around 38 will set up to maintain strict vigilance on crowds inside major puja pandals.

However, police will be patrolling for the whole night at National Highway from Udaipur to Baghma , Udaipur to Santirbazar and Udaipur - Amarpur Raod including Gandhari to keep notice of any untoward incident.
