AMBASSA, Oct 12 (TIWN): MP Jiten Chowdhury while addressing a crowded gathering of Govt. Employees at Ambassa, the Head Quarter of Dhalai District, organised by TUKC's (Tripura Upajati Karmachari Kamiti) Ambassa Divisional Committee, pointed out that govt. is aware of the fact that there was a underlying link between the recent spate of communal tension across the country and demand of Tipraland raised by a section of out casted political elements in Tripura. “This is the appendicitis developed due to the pro-corporate policies being pursued by the NDA Government and ill design of RSS dictated political strategy of Modi Government to divert the common masses growing anger against unemployment, price rise, farmer’s suicide, and killing of fundamental right and accelerating hardship of the common peopleâ€, said Chowdhury.
He further added that communalism is the menace not only for the target communities but also for those in whose name communal politics is played. In fact, it has landed the entire nation, its sovereignty and plural structure in jeopardy. Combating communalism is not the task of any one individual or group; it is a collective task. Everybody has to play his role, be it student or teacher, parents or children, shopkeeper or consumer, politician or voter – government or citizen. So, let’s come forward and take up the cudgel to fight the menace known as communalism. To ease out my as well as your task we should clearly understand our role in the battle against the communal forces.
MP Jiten also appealed to media that Media has a great role to fight Communalism and democracy must be strengthened from the grassroots level and it must be ensured that the elections are fought on the basis of development issues and not on the basis of communal psyche of the masses.
