Shatadal Sangha to depict symbol of peace and harmony ‘Gautam Buddha’

AGARTALA, Oct 11 (TIWN): Like any other year, this year also Shatadal Sangha is going to depict an extraordinary design, to attract the crowd.

This year they are set to depict a symbol of peace and harmony ‘Gautam Buddha’.

“This year we are trying to depict the symbol of peace and harmony ‘Gautam Buddha’ with an aim to spread message of peace. The idol of Gautam Buddha will be crafted in absorbed meditation”, said member of Puja Committee.

The artisans hired for the decorating the Durga stage is former student of Art College Prasenjit Banik. Besides, the idol is shaped and decorated by Tripura slay artisan Uttam Chakraborty.

However, it is expected that with the colourful lighting by Tapan Das, people of the state will be enthralled.

Besides, as a part of this programme a sit and draw competition will be organized on Monday at around 10am in the morning. Detailing about the programme it has been said that from 0-5 years of age the children can draw according to their wish. From 5 to 9 years of age, the candidates have to draw a scenario of Autumn Season and from 9 to 12 the candidates have to draw on the theme Durga Puja.

Several other competitions will be organized on Maha Sashti. Power Minister Manik Dey is expected to inaugurate the pandal. AMC Mayor Dr. Prafullajit Sinha, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy and Municipal Council Basana Debnath are expected to remain present.
