AGARTALA, October 11 (TIWN): Just a week left for the awaiting auspicious celebration of Durga Puja to begin, Tripura police kicks off with massive security arrangements with 2000 police personals.

Talking to the TIWN correspondent, West SP Bijoy Nag on Saturday said the altogether 2000 police personals will be deployed in the capital to ensure peaceful observance of the ensuing festival of Durga Puja.

In order to ensure a peaceful Puja celebration, all the police station stepped up in full-swing for the surveillance of the areas all across the state. Besides, bomb squads with sniffer dog will be patrolling all across the capital as a part of surveillance.

Detailing about the security arrangements, SP Nag said that altogether 17 CCTVs would be installed in front of major community puja pandals of the capital city to keep close surveillance with installation of metal detectors. CCTV camera will be very important for the safety of people, as during festival time pick-pocketers increase at a high.

As part of precautionary measures, the police have already intensified anti-sabotage drive in and around the capital town. This will be increased in the days to come.

Besides, BSF has been asked to maintain strict surveillance in entire stretch of Indo-Bangla border along with Tripura.

However, as many as 23 watch tower will be installed all across the capital to keep a strict vigilance during the Puja celebration. Adequate number of metal detectors and drop gates would be there as part of tight security measures.

Describing about the puja celebration is has been mentioned that huge number of police and TSR are being deployed to maintain peace in the State. Besides, to ensure proper security and to keep strict vigilance across the State the police personals will be deployed in plain clothes.

Massive search operation is also continuing across the state in all public places, motor-vehicles, hotels, restaurants, busy market places with bomb and dog squads.

However, amid inclement weather, puja organizers seem a little bit upset but still continuing with their work in full fledges to meet the deadline.

The state has always been witnessing theme based puja pandals, this year also the Puja organizer of Bharat Ratna are busy to depict the holy place Vashno Devi and many others are busy to bring up with a social message to the people.
