AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Border Security Force of Tripura celebrated Golden Jubilee year 2014 on Thursday here in Agartala. The programme was held at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan at 6.30 pm, Trhusday.

Tripura High Court Chief Justice Deepak Gupta inaugurated the programme. Many dignitaries of the state, including senior BSF officers had been present during the programme.

However, it’s to be mentioned here that Border Security Force, the first line of defence & world’s largest border guard force was raised on December 1^st, 1965, after Indo-Pak war under the leadership of Sh. K F Rustamji as the first director general of BSF.

In this regard, on the first date of December 2015, BSF will cross 50 years of service and therefore 2015 will be celebrated as the Golden Jubilee year of BSF.
