AGARTALA, October 9 (TIWN): Despite of taking several initiatives taken by the State Government for the poor and needy people, many families had to sleep empty stomach.
According to the official report, altogether 57.86 crore has been spent under MGNREGA to generate 31, 30, 441 man days.
It is worthy to mention that under Indira Awaas Yojana, altogether 123 houses have been approved during the financial year 2014-15. Reportedly, all construction work of the houses is expected to be completed by the current month.
Besides, construction of 166 houses has been completed among 1148 approved houses under State Housing Project. The remaining houses are expected to be completed by the month of November.
However, in the current financial year a target of 1766 houses under Indira Awaas Yojana has been taken. Among them construction of 155 houses are on progress.
Despite of several initiatives taken by the state government to improve the condition, till today people are suffering as they do not have any roof over their head. Many children are begging around to feed their stomach.
