AGARTALA, Oct 5 (TIWN): Although turmoil has been created at Tripura once again with the NLFT’s movement at border area of Gomati dist., West Tripura SP Bijay Nag said, “The chain of NLFT functionaries, which planned to create violence at Tripura during Durga Puja 2015, has been crushed down”. Talking to TIWN over phone, he said that although a group of NLFT based in Bangladesh, tried to recruit NLFT militants from Tripura, but police has broken down their recruitment-chain and who were involved in this task and police is investigating the case. “As per the information, no NLFT militant is prevailing in Tripura presently, so Durga Puja 2015 will be safe”, added Nag.It’s to be mentioned here that a group of NLFT had been arrested on Sept 19 by police from the heart of Agartala near CM's residence who entered Tripura with the mission to blast Agartala city during Durga Puja 2015. Earlier also in the year 2008 serial bomb blast caused death to many people, and this year also NLFT made a master-plan to create communal violence during Durga Puja festival. A 6 members’ team of NLFT was trained to succeed the planned blast during puja season . Sources say that in the hilly parts of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), those youths were trained and thus selected for this mission and more 6 members team were to made, especially for this blast.

Among them 2 persons namely Kanendra Tripura and Binduram Tripura are found active members of NLFT and getting trained by NLFT’s camp based in CHT (Chittagong Hill Tracts).

However, it’s to be mentioned that allegations are coming that around 10 to 12 armed militants has entered Korbuk Sub-division  taking the chance tho unfenced border area ahead of Village committee polls. But SP West said that  no such information has been come yet to the police.

However, SP confirmed that the peace during Durga Puja will be well-maintained. The arrangement which have taken on the part of Govt. are:

1.     Police mobility to be increased

2.     CCTV camera will be fitted

3.     Volunteers will be taken from various organizations

4.     Notices to the clubs against forceful collection of donation

5.     Metal-detectors will be provided before the pandal

6.     Mobile-policing will be increased

7.     More 1,500 to 2000 security force need to be deployed

Bijay Nag also confirmed that meetings regarding the Durga Puja are being conducted in police departments. Tripura police force will serve their best to maintain the peace of the state. CCTV camera  will be very important for the safety of people, as during festival time pick-pocketers increase at a high. Moreover, the metal detector system will be helpful to save the public from any kind of attack including terrorist attacks.
