Kejriwal’s flop Conclave:  Strengthening country’s  Federal  structure is initiative of CPI-M, claims sidelined Manik Sarkar

AGARTALA, Oct 5 (TIWN): The conclave organized by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on centre – state relation turned to be a flop show. The conclave was held on Wednesday last. Kejriwal’s initative to bring all anti BJP and anti Congress ruled state under one umbrella received a setback. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after gaining absolute majority in Delhi assembly election was passing through a bad phase like - tussle with the centre, arrest of senior ministers of Kejriwal government . To overcome the dark phase of his political career and teach PM Modi a lesson, Kejriwal took the initiative. Accordingly, he invited anti – BJP and anti – Congress chief ministers for the conclave.However the response of the invitation was lukewarm. Mamata – Manik are bitter political rivals , but on centre-state relation and protecting the federal structure they have the same view. Citing ensuing Bihar election , chief minister Nitish Kumar did not attend the conclave however his message was read out in the conclave.Mizoram and Pondicherry Chief ministers also did not attend.On the day of concalve, Tripura chief minister had an hour long meeting Kejriwal. He left the conclave before the arrival of West Bengal Chief Minister. In the conclave Sarkar said from 1980 the initiative was taken to strengthen the federal structure by then chief minister of West Bengal Jyoti Basu. Tripura CM Manik Sarkar's attempt to portray himself as national leader miserably failed as national media kept focus on Mamata and Kejriwal.

Due to his pressure than Prime Minister Indira Gandhi constituted the Sarkaria Commission, whereas the recommendation of the commission was not implemented. Later UPA government also constituted another commission.
