Rather without any prior notice and without providing any proper place to hawkers to continue their business, the authority started to evict the hawkers from their place, said INTTUC state in-charge.

INTTUC state in-charge Biplab Kar said that getting no other option they had to knock the door of Tripura High Court for the implementation of the Street Vendor Act 2014 in the State and on October 5 the case will be placed before the Tripura High Court.

A delegation of Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC) met Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) Dr. Prafullajit Sinha four times seeking immediate rehabilitation of evicted roadside hawkers and to initiate the Street Vendor Act 2014 but till day no initiatives has been taken.
