AGARTALA, Oct 4 (TIWN): Just before the Municipal and Nagar Panchayat election, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on October 3 announced to provide bamboo huts to the Jhumiya families.
While speaking in a review meet at Khumlung Chief Officials, CM Sarkar said the bamboo huts will be built under the schemes of State Government, MGNREGA and IJY. It has been mentioned that altogether eight thousand Jhumiya families will be getting the bamboo hut.
Besides, he also mentioned that roads and clean drinking water facility will be provided as soon as possible. CM further instructed the concern department to complete the brick soling roads for better communication by the year 2016.
He further mentioned that day by day the population is increasing and the agriculture land is lessening. Therefore, compare to the requirement the production is less and there is no agricultural land in the plain land.
Besides, it has been mentioned that altogether there are 37 thousand hector of land where cultivation is not possible due to lack of irrigation facility. Therefore, CM urged to increase the irrigation facility and to focus on to increase the agricultural land.
ADC is taking initiatives the improve the education system, CM urges to implement it properly. Besides, he also discussed about the various initiatives taken for the child and the mother. CM discussed about education and social welfare including farming, drinking water, irrigation, roads, electricity, youth welfare and sports, culture health and MGNREGA work under the rural development department.
However, CM also discussed to improve the sports sector in the ADC.
During the review meet, Tribal Welfare Minister Aghore Debbarma, Minister for Health & Family Welfare Badal Choudhury, Minister for Education Tapan Chakraborty and others were present.
