Scorching heat and prolonged load shedding makes life miserable

AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): Frequent load shedding in various parts of the state without any prior notice or announcement, made the daily life miserable in this scorching heat.

The searing heat accompanied by power outages lasting for many hours a day in the state has made the lives of the residents miserable.

Reportedly, Subhash Park area of the Khowai sub-division has faced prolonged days of load shedding from 9 am to 5 pm. Though it has been reported that the power service has been made normal on October 2 but never know what can be next.

State Government on one hand where claims to make the Agartala a smart city, o the other hand fails to make the state load shedding free which is the basic requirement of the people.

It is worthy to mention that where the residences of the urban areas are facing prolonged hours of load shedding, there are many families in the interior part of the state where the power extension is yet to reach.

Unscheduled load-shedding running into hours has landed the people across the State in dire straits. And with the sweltering summer heat, things are proving unbearable for them.

Prolonged hours of load shedding just before the Durga Puja celebration made the business man to suffer in the scorching heat. People visits the shop in the afternoon for marketing in the scorching heat expects electricity in the shops but due to unscheduled load shedding the shopkeepers had to suffer.

Besides, the shops which are running depending on electricity are suffering equally as they cannot sell their product due to load shedding.

However, seven months of prolonged shut down of Monarchak Power plant till the month of March 2016 next, also lead to prolonged load shedding.

Besides, both the unit of Palanta power plant is expected to remain shut down till October 4 for maintenance work.
