AGARTALA, Oct 2 (TIWN): With the aim to avoid traffic glitch in the AMC area, the AMC has decided to demolish all the heavy weight puja pandals at the AMC area just immediately after the day of Dashami.
In a meeting on Thursday, AMC officials have decided to demolish all the heavy weight puja pandals just after Dashami to provide smooth movement of the traffic in the city routes.
As many of the clubs organizes heavy weight puja pandals covering a huge portion of the city roads it creates disruption in the smooth movement of the traffic and leads to traffic glitch and as a result AMC has decided to demolish all the heavy weight puja pandals immediately after Dashami.
However, many of the puja committee organizers have expressed displeasure over the decision of the AMC decision to demolish te puja pandals after Dashami.
It is to be mentioned here that Minister Manik Dey in a meeting with the AMC urged the officials of the department to ensure adequate arrangements at all the major junction of the capital city during the puja days.
Proper lighting and electrification in all the wards and on all the streets repairing and maintenance of ward roads should be done as early as possible including repair and maintenance of idol immersion at Dashamighat should be given a keen eye.
During the meeting, the officials have discussed about the various majors steps to be taken to ensure load shedding free Durga Puja celebration. However, the final decision will be disclosed later.
The Minister informed about promising initiatives to preserve the sanctity and tranquility of the festival.
