AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN): In a view to institutionalize alternate disputes redressal mechanism, Minister Bhanu Lal Saha on Thursday inaugurated a toll free PDS call centre and state Consumer help line at Food and civil suppliance office in presence of M. Nagaraju Industry and Health secretary.
The software of the PDS helpline has been developed by the state NIC and the state Consumer helpline shall function through common application software developed by state consumer helpline Knowledge resource Management team of Indian Institute of public administration.
Inaugurating the toll free PDS call centre and state Consumer help line Minister Bhanu Lal Saha said that the PDS helpline will function through the Toll free telephone number 1967 where any citizen of the state can call and seek PDS related information as well lodge his or her complaint. Acting on the query of the client the helpline staff would provide required information to the caller and if necessary would forward the complaint of the caller to the respective sub-divisional magistrate for redressal within 7 days time.
Adding to that he also said that the state consumer help line will function through the toll free number 1800-345-3665 where a citizen of the state can call and seek information, advice or guidance for the day to day consumers problems.
This system is adopted for the redressal of complaints through convergence initiative, wherein complaints received will systematically be compiled and forwarded electronically to the nominated designated officials of those organizations willing to attend and resolve complaints through convergence.
They key objective of the state consumer helpline is to provide advice, guidance and information to the consumers through the toll free telephone to get satisfactory redresssal of their problems.
