Newly appointed Addl Governor of Tripura to take oath on Sept 30

AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): The state is all set to welcome West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi on September 30(Wednesday) as an additional Governor of Tripura, after he was handed over the additional charge of Tripura Governor due to absence on leave of Tathagata Roy for next one month.

It is worthy to be mention here that as Governor of Tripura Tathagata Roy is going on leave from his duty in the next month for his personal work and the President of India has been pleased to appoint Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Tripura, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave, of Tathagata Roy, Governor of Tripura.

Chief Justice of High Court of Tripura Deepak Gupta would administer the oath of the newly appointed additional Governor of Tripura Keshari Nath Tripathi at Raj Bhawan on Wednesday.

However, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and other ministers will remain present in the oath taking ceremony at Raj Darbar hall in Raj Bhawan.

As per the report, newly appointed additional Governor of Tripura will arrive at 9.35 AM and Chief Minister along with other ministers will receive him from the Airport to Raj Bhawan.

The Governor will be given guard of honor at Raj Bhawan and will have a formal introduction with political parties and ministers of the state.

For the smooth functioning of the oath taking ceremony and to welcome the newly appointed Governor, security would also be tightened to avoid any untoward circumstances.

Keshari Nath Tripathi is an Indian Politician and the present Governor of West Bengal .He took oath as Governor of West Bengal on 24 July 2014 and as Governor of Bihar on 27 November, same year. He was sworn in as the Governor of Mizoram on April 4, 2015. He is a Veteran BJP leader. Earlier, he was the speaker of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly and the president of Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya janata Party.

He also practiced as a Senior Advocate at Allahabad High Court. He is also an author and a poet and has published several books. His chief literary works are two anthologies called 'Manonukriti' and 'Aayu Pankh. On the professional side, his commentary on The Representation of People Act, 1951 is still widely esteemed. Aside from that he has written many other books not only in Hindi but also in English. He is also a part of the Hindi poets gathering that takes place both in India and in Abroad.
