AGARTALA, Sep 28 (TIWN): The poor condition of the NH44 has lead to endless sufferings for the state people. Starting from transportation problem, now the people are facing the threat of price hike in the state.

Although lately, the state govt. has finally decided to open an alternative way of NH-44 by which goods may be exported and imported here in the state easily, but question arises for how many days will the newly opened road be able to carry forward the daily transportation.

Since last many days’ goods had been found rotten on Assam-Agartala road, as vehicles were stranded along the NH-44 highway.

The alternative way of NH-44 is known as N H C Road. The road has opened from Friday for the benefit of the people, as due to NH-44’s pathetic condition foods within the vehicles has been rotten on the way. As a result market price of vegetables had also gone high. Due to the pathetic condition of the NH44, the petrol crisis in the state has gone high.

Adding to the sufferings of the people, long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala, giving rise to large scale black marketing of oil. Meanwhile; petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.

Most of the motorcyclist had to wait for more than two hours in a queue to refill their vehicles.

Outside in the black market petrol was available at Rs.150 to 200 per liter but that is also adulterated with kerosene. Most of the filling stations have put the board of no petrol but actually there is oil. Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel as the NH is in pathetic condition to cater oil tankers in the state.
