AGARTALA, September 27 (TIWN): Demanding strict action against the accused, East Women Police on Sunday produced the six accused of same family before the CJM court in allegation of murder of a house wife (Purnima Roy) for dowry in their own house on Saturday morning.Reportedly, the accused were identified as Bunty Saha, husband of Purnima Saha, Father-in-Law Swapan Saha, Mother-in-Law Anita Saha, Brother-in-Law Dipankar Saha, Sister-in-Law Iti Saha and Rupa Saha, all are the resident of Subhash Nagar Nripenpalli.It is to be mentioned here that deceased Purnima Roy (Saha) has been identified as the resident of Subhash Nagar Nripenpalli and her parental address is of Nutannagar.She has been married to Bunty Saha five years ago. By profession accused Bunty Saha was a fish trader at Maharajganj Market. After two years of marriage the couple had a baby boy and gradually the husband family started to pressurise and even bitten the deceased Purnima Roy (Saha) several times for dowry.

Hurt and terrified with the brutal behaviour of the accused husband and his family members, most of the time, deceased Purnima use to visit to her parental house and bought money for them.

Reportedly, getting hefty amount of money the accused husband use to spend all the money with both his hands by giving party to his friends. Once the money was over, he and his family use to get going with their heinous crime against deceased Purnima.

Further, it has been reported that the family was living in myth that deceased Purima has been unlucky for her husband’s business. Therefore, the accused family use to torture her and use to demand hefty amount of money from her parents.

They even use to threaten her as she is the reason behind the loss in the business of her husband and therefore she had to pay the loss by bringing hefty amount of money from her parents.

Besides, many time deceased Purnima use to take shelter in her neighbour’s houses after she has been brutally tortured by the accused family members. Even her cruel destiny did not left her to stay safe in her neighbour’s house as well, the accused family finding her out use to beat her brutally even there itself.

Locals alleged that the accused family use to beat her brutally and when the members use to beat her, sister-in-Law and Mother-in-Law use to tie victims hands and legs.

Detailing about the incident it has been reported that deceased Purnima once again came to take shelter on Friday in one of her neighbour house after he has been brutally beaten by the accused family members to ask her parents for more Rs. 1 Lakh.

Later, the accused family members talked with the parent of Purnima over phone and demanded for Rs. 1 Lakh  and also threatened that if they do not bring the demanded amount they have see the dead face of their daughter. Later when Purnima returned home, the accused family members have brutally tortured her again.

On Friday, the neighbours even heard the cry of deceased Purnima.

However, identifying smoke coming out from the house of the accused family on Saturday morning and smell of burn things, the locals of the area went to their house and found that Mother-in-Law, father-in-Law and Sister-in-Law is pouring water over deceased Purnima. When the locals asked about the incident, they accused family said that deceased Purnima was trying to kill herself.

Later, the parents of the deceased came to visit their daughter on Saturday they found their daughter dead.  

Knowing about the incident, Accused Bunty has been informed immediately as he went to his shop like the regular days. Later when he arrived he said that his wife deceased Purnima has committed suicide.

Getting alarm about the incident DSP Olivia Debbarma and OC Sima Biswas of East Women Police along with other officials visited the spot and arrested the accused family members.
