District Level Book fair inaugurated at Santirbazar

Santirbazar, September 27 (TIWN): Dakshin Tripura Zillasabhadhipati Himanshu Roy inaugurated 4 days South Tripura District Level book fair at Santirbazar HS School Field in Santirbazar on September 26th. Working executive of Nagar Panchayat delivered the welcome speech. The fair was organized with the initiatives of the Education Department Govt of Tripura . The fair will continue till September 29th. Himanshu Roy in his speech focused on the importance and need of the book fair in our daily life. He said education brings awareness and this awareness avail us to raise voice against superstitious. Book fair also attract the new readers towards it. And to increase the number of reader's book fair should continue. SDM Santirbazar said book fair provide us the opportunity to select the book of our choice. Chairman Santirbazar Nagar Panchayat Maya Bhattacharya said books help people to be aware about the world. District Education Officer Kalimohan Jamatia, Chairman Bokafa Panchayat Samiti ,Tripura Book Sellers Association members were also present. The programme was presided over by Chairperson of Santirbazar Nagar Panchayat Maya Bhattacharya.

Thousands of avid readers flocked to the upcoming 4 days book fair in Santirbazar that not only displays books of the state, but also provides a platform for an interaction between both readers and writers. Book fairs are obviously a big thing for all areas, particularly for backward places like us. First and foremost it gives a big exposure to the new books that are coming out, and it also encourages new writers. This is one of the best platforms for interaction between the writers and the readers.

To make the book fair a grand success, as many as 12 sub-committees were constituted in the preparatory meeting. Altogether 22 stalls will be opened in the book fair and poet-summit, awareness programme on women and children will be organized during the four-day book fair.
