West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi gets additional charge of Tripura

AGARATALA, SEPTEMBER 26(TIWN): West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi is given the additional charge of Tripura Governor due to absence on leave of Tathagata Roy for next one month.

Speaking to Media, acting Governor of the state Tathagata Roy in a press meet at Raj Bhawan on Saturday said that the President of India has been pleased to appoint Keshari Nath Tripathi, Governor of West Bengal, to discharge the functions of the Governor of Tripura, in addition to his own duties, during the absence, on leave.

Governor Tathagata Roy further said that he is going on leave from his duty for next one month as he is going to abroad for his personal work. He further added West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi is appointed as the additional governor to look after office welfare of the state in his absence.

Governor Tathagata Roy has also extended greetings and best wishes for the ensuing sharad utsav in the state.

In his message, Governor Roy said that Durga puja gives the message of fraternity, affection and mutual harmony. He has also urged people to strengthen spirit of brotherhood and unity on this occasion and to celebrate the festival with spirit of composite culture of India and state. The Governor also wished progress of state and its people on the occasion. 

Keshari Nath Tripathi is an Indian Politician and the present Governor of West Bengal .He took oath as Governor of West Bengal on 24 July 2014 and as Governor of Bihar on 27 November, same year. He was sworn in as the Governor of Mizoram on April 4, 2015. He is a Veteran BJP leader. Earlier, he was the speaker of Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly and the president of Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya janata Party.

He also practiced as a Senior Advocate at Allahabad High Court. He is also an author and a poet and has published several books. His chief literary works are two anthologies called 'Manonukriti' and 'Aayu Pankh. On the professional side, his commentary on The Representation of People Act, 1951 is still widely esteemed. Aside from that he has written many other books not only in Hindi but also in English. He is also a part of the Hindi poets gathering that takes place both in India and in Abroad.
