Increasing insurgent threats in Tripura: 1 Bangladeshi sent to jail under Indian Passport Act

DHARMANAGAR, Sep 25 (TIWN): A suspected spy to Islamic Mujahedeen from Yakubnagar border area has been arrested by troops of 159 Bn BSF. Dharmanagar CJM court on Thursday sent a Bangladeshi to jail under Indian Passport Act. The Bangladeshi has been identified as Sabuj Ahmed (25), allegedly involved in Terrorist activity.

According to the police report, Sabuj Ali had a high link with world terrorist group of Pakishtan based Lashkar-e-Taiba.Moreover, he was holding several ATM cards and also an Indian PAN card.

Moreover, cash worth Rs 12,000, a motorcycle, three mobile handsets, several ATM cards, an Indian PAN card, bank passbook and Bangladeshi SIM cards were also recovered from him.
Sabuj Ahmed (25), S/O- Ruab Ali is a resident of Bhawanipur village in Moulavi Bazar district under Juri police station in Bangladesh.
It’s to be mentioned that BSF at the border area of Yakubnagar under Dharmanagar caught him on Wednesday. He was also suspecting to have links with Bangladeshi fundamentalist group.  

Ahmed himself said to police that without valid documents, he was regularly roaming over these 2 countries since last two years. During his visit he used to stay at Renu Miah’s house, a local people of that place.

 However, it’s to be mentioned that Tripura is suffering continuously due to insurgent attacking threats. On September 19, 3 NLFT militants were nabbed by police and Chief Judicial Magistrate of West Tripura district on Thursday had extended the police remand of 3 NLFTs namdly : Panendra Tripura, Rajesh Debbarma and Bishnuram Tripura.
