Agartalaptember 22 (TIWN), Se:Tripura State Rifles (TSR), called pride of the state but all is not well with the jawans . They are victims of extreme ignorance of state home department posted in different ranks, being deprived at all fronts. No stone was left unturned by the deprived jawans, they went pillar to post for justice. But the authority every time turned down their request. Having no other option, for getting justice the TSR jawans knocked the door of high court filed a writ petition.
On Monday, the court gives judgment in favor of four TSR havildars (clerk) writ petitioner ending long deprivation of promotion. According to the petition, all four got promotion as havildar on February 11, 2004. But in a departmental order on October 25, 2005 their promotion was cancelled. Challenging the order they filed four writ petitions in the court.
The court after long hearing on September 1, 2010 taking in view of the writ petition cancelled the departmental order. The court directed all four to be reinstated as havildars (clerk). Meanwhile, the home department gave promotion to juniors of writ petitioners as Naib Subedars ( clerk). They approached the concerned authority against the illegal promotion. The juniors got promoted to Naib Subedars, whereas seniors did not get any promotion.In security forces this kind of promotions are insulting and annoying.
The four havildars ( clerk) again filed writ petition in court on 2012. On Monday, final hearing the court directed in next three months all the deprived writ petitioners is given promotion as rule 94 of TSR (appointment). Besides, their promotion should be made in effect from before the promotion of juniors.
