AGARTALA, September 15 (TIWN): State Level workshop on Certificate Course for Panchayat Secretaries organized on Tuesday at Pragna Bhavan.
The programme was inaugurated by Rural Development Minister Manik Dey in the presence of other dignitaries.
Speaking at the programme Minister Dey said that this initiative will guide the Secretaries on how to work properly in the panchayat level.
Besides, it will also guide the on how to work with the pradhan of the villages. It will also help to develop the villages in the state.
The programme was organized with the initiatives of the NIRD and Panchayat Raj, Hydrabad, Sipard, A.D Nagar, Agartala and Rural development Department.
This programme has been initiated to train the members and secretaries of Panchayats on decentralisation of democratic powers at the grassroots has come to a grinding halt with indifference shown by senior officers of the Department of Rural Development.
