Manik claims ‘Farmer Loans by Banks are handiwork of CPI-M led State Govt’

AGARTALA, September 13 (TIWN): Addressing the 8th Biennial Conference at Nazrul Kalashetra on Sunday, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said that to ensure high productivity and to develop the Agriculture sector of the state, the State Government has made the nationalized bank agree to lend and provide loans to the farmers in order to help them financially.

Speaking at the programme of Tripura Agricultural Graduate Association, Minister Sarkar urged to spread the knowledge of the agriculturalists, good at the theories of Agriculture among the farmers so that they can improve their production and the quality. Besides, the State Government can also export the production to the neighbouring states which can bring profit to the farmers as well as the state.

Enhancing the close rapport with the farmers and agriculturalist in the state in order to increase the production, Minister Sarkar stressed that if the farmers are trained well with the modern techniques and theories then the production will increase automatically.

Stressing on the topic, Minister said that as the farmers has experience in the field and the agriculturalists are experts in theoretical knowledge, therefore accumulating both the production can increased both in quantity and quality which will lead the state towards advancement of the agriculture production utilizing less land, water, fertilizers and seeds.

Besides, Chief Executive Member of TTAADC Radhacharan Debbarma urged the farmers in the ADC areas to make use of the all the days in a year so that the quantity of production increases. Informing about the number of days utilized for farming he said nearly 150 days of the year has been used for farming in the area.

Appreciating the development in the Agricultural sector, Debbarma said that compare to the previous years, the Agriculture sector has developed a lot. Besides, there are several developments waiting for us, just we have to grab it and implement it.

However, at the second day of the 8th Biennial programme Agricultural Minister Aghore Debbarma, Principal Secretary of Agriculture Department GSG Ayyangar and other members of the TAGA were also present.
