AGARTALA, September 5 (TIWN): Just after the Tripura High Court had directed the state government and its Rural Development Department to submit a fresh affidavit over the Bishalgarh multi-crore scam under the state RD department, the department was found under tight spot finding no alternative to get rid off from the scam unearthed during the year 2014 by the congress. The HC has found several loopholes in the earlier filed affidavit by the government.

According to the official source, the department is eyeing forward to sit for a jumbo meeting after getting suggestions from the ruling party lawyers. So far the government had curtained the entire scam getting the scamster Bimal Chakroborty the close aide of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar out from jail.

As per the direction by the HC Chief Justice Deepak Gupta the government have to file a fresh affidavit by October 1, which has now brought the government spending a sleepless night.

Source added that recently the department has taken several initiatives to hire Supreme Court judges and get the affidavit ready by October 1 this year. It has been learnt that despite the central government issued several letters to the state government seeking reply over the Bishalgarh multi-crore scam, the government has failed to act accordingly so far.

However, the HC is pegged to pronounce the final verdict on October 5 after getting the affidavit from state government. It is to be mentioned here that the government had taken several legal steps against the scam unearthed at Bishalgarh RD department but simply to eyewash the public.

Though, Bimal was arrested last year, he walked out free from the judicial custody as police failed to submit charge sheet against him even after 180 days.

It has been learnt that another Public Interest Litigation (PIL) would be filed with the HC regarding another Rs. 150 crore scam at Kailasahar. According to the legal analysis the government would get to find no way to get rid off in the coming days as several scams had rocked the entire state and some more would be unearthed very shortly.

The opposition Congress filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the in 2014 demanding CBI probe into the scam. Following the PIL, the HC served a notice to the government to give reasons of discarding CBI enquiry into the corruption incident of Bishalgarh RD Block.
