AGARTALA, September 5 (TIWN): Barely after one day Chief Minister Manik Sarkar declared insurgent free Tripura, outlawed insurgent group NLFT(BM) showed their presence at Gandacherra sub division , Dhalai district. On Saturday last,,the insurgent kidnapped two tribal youths, causing widespread panic in the sub division. According to police, three youths went to collect bamboo at Maldapara under Ganganagar police station. There five to six armed militants kidnapped the youths. Later, one was released by militants. After the incidents the jhumia families are feeling insecure. They are moving towards safer destination.NLFT have speed up their activities in Gandacherra, Longtarai Valley and Raishyabari area. They are reportedly issuing mass subscription notices to people and started kidnapping for ransom. Now the question what kind of peace talks are going on between the centre, state and NLFT? What is the role of state in the peace talk? Chief Minister Manik Sarkar categorically rejected the NLFT's ceasefire offer on the ground that it could not compromise with the people's security for any anti-national outfit.

Only objection raised by state government   was on Bijoy Hrangkhwal name as an interlocutor by NLFT. Manik Sarkar is trying to gain extra mileage  from this. He already started saying that it proves Bijoy ,  still have nexus with the militant outfit.

Sarkar’s government should grab the opportunity of peace talk instead  politicising the issue. Bangladesh government is all out against the insurgent groups sheltered there. It is a golden opportunity for the Sarkar to root out insurgency permanently from the state.
