Health and Education remains poor, no fruitful initiatives

AGARTALA, September 4 (TIWN): Despite of various initiatives taken by the state government to improve the Education system and the health in the state, most of the schools and hospitals are running deplorable in the Left rule golden era.

Residence of the interior parts that are not getting proper facilities from the nearby hospitals due to the poor condition has to struggle a lot to reach the hospitals with better facilities.

Besides, there are schools which are not renovated for prolonged years and students are continuing their education under the wrecked roof and collapsed walls. There are even schools whish runs under bamboo huts.

The problems mostly arise during the monsoon season, and the students had to continue their studies over soggy floor.

Speaking at an Education and Health related meeting of Rajnagar Panchayat Samiti recently, a representative of the Education Department informed that spending Rs. 39.20 lakh various construction working is going on in several areas of Rajnagar Block.

It has been informed that construction work of new class rooms are going in Bhoirob Nagar Das Colony JB, Samarendranagar JB, Ratanmani SB, Rangamura SB and Sidhu Kanu Memorial High school.

Besides, various renovation works is going on in the Chilapathor High school, Baganbari High School, Bhairabnagar Munda High School, Kamalpur SB, Prakashnagar JB School and in many other high schools. Altogether Rs. 1.50lakh will be spent.

Altogether, 6712 students were provided school uniforms, spending an amount of Rs. 25.80 lakhs.
