AGARTALA, September 4 (TIWN): With the drop in the petrol price to Rs 57.61 Ppaisa, Petrol crisis has again hit the State. Almost all the petrol pumps of Agartala city were found hanging ‘No Petrol’ board since Thursday morning. Only the Bardowali and Gonoraj Chowmuhani BOC seem to be acting.

Long queue of people were found waiting with their motorcycles in front of the petrol pump in the vicinity of Agartala, giving rise to large scale black marketing of oil. Meanwhile; petrol crisis has hit the state capital and sub divisional headquarters. Motor cycle users of the city have been facing an unprecedented crisis following the unavailability of fuel in most of the petrol pumps, catering to the requirement of motorists of the city and its surrounding areas.

Speaking to TIWN, a motorcyclist said he has been waiting in front of a petrol pump in the city for more than two hours.

Outside in the black market petrol was available at Rs. 130 to 150 per liter but that is also adulterated with kerosene. Most of the filling stations have put the board of no petrol but actually there is oil. Owners of vehicles are facing great difficulties in obtaining fuel.

Taking the advantage the opportunist are fully utilizing the scarcity by selling the petrol by black marketing. The petrol dealers of the State were emerging in a new trend to earn more money through black marketing which causes artificial petrol crisis in the State.

On the other part, State Government though fully aware about the situation, but takes no step at all.
