AGARTALA, September 4 (TIWN): To pacify teachers anger, partially among the 10, 323 teachers across the state the Tripura Left front government had finally regularised all the 4000 Graduate teachers of the 10, 323 inducted illegally in the teachers posts under state government on May 21, 2010. “As per rules and regulation the government had regularised the 4000 graduate teachers from now as they had completed 5 years in service,” said State education minister Tapan Chakroborty. However still these teachers fate is uncertain as it depends on the ongoing SC case and Supreme Court's verdict on Illegal teachers recruitment which was cancelled by Tripura High Court on May 7, 2014
If Supreme Court upholds High Court Judgement as State Govt didn't follow any proper procedures or TET as per Central Govt guidelines- then this announcement of 4000 teachers regularization is nothing but a political stunt as Tripura Govt will be forced to cancel original recruitment of all 10.323 teachers.

Talking to the media persons on Thursday at the civil secretariat Chakroborty said, “After several discussions the state cabinet had decided to regularise the teachers as per rules and regulations.”

Chakraborty also said, “The rest of the teachers among the 10, 323 would also be regularised after they complete 5 years.”

The Left front government had appointed 1100 post graduate teachers, 4617 graduate teachers and 4606 under graduate teachers since 2010.

On May 7, 2014 Tripura High Court cancelled the appointment of 10,323 teachers in different categories recruited since 2010 and ruled that no proper policy was followed for their appointment. Later during the month of December 2014 the SC stayed the HC order to terminate the jobs of at least 10, 323 teachers and allowed them to continue their service until the final disposal of the case.

The undergraduate teachers were appointed during 2013 which gave rise to widespread resentments among the candidates who did not get the job. They attacked many ruling CPI-M party offices and razed them to the grounds. Many party leaders were also heckled.

However CPI-M's political stunt may backfire if  SC upholds High Court judgement and Tripura Govt will be forced to cancel original recruitement of  all 10.323 teachers.
