AGARTALA, September 4 (TIWN): The former surrendered National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) supremo Nayannashi Jamatia is being admitted to Agartala psychiatric hospital after he was attacked by a mob on Wednesday while he made an attack on the locals of Teliamura by a sharp cutting weapon while he was picketing during the strike.
Prior to the counter attack by a mob NLFT former militant Jamatia left at least three injured including a police officer of Teliamura police station.
Police informed that the surrendered NLFT supremo Jamatia was mentally ill since he retained his normal life. Locals informed that Jamatia often attacks the people with a sharp cutting weapon.
However after the incident took place on Wednesday the locals handed him before police. Later under the initiative of Teliamura police the NLFT former militant was send to Agartala mental hospital saying that Jamatia needs to be treated as he is a psychiatrist patient.
Police informed that Jamatia was grilled at Bangladesh Chattagram jail for 8 years and later he reached state with severe illness and surrendered before police in the year 2013 October 9. It was reported that when Jamatia was inducted in TSR 1st battalion at Baramura he escaped with a TSR rifle and joined the NLFT.
After at least 11 years, during the year 2011 Jamatia along with his team wanted to surrender before the police after several talsk with the state and central government.
Jamatia demanded to make him Chief Minister of the state and later after his demand was denied he again joined the NLFT group during the year 2005.
