AGARTALA, September 3 (TIWN): Does rule of law exists in CPI-M ruled Tripura ? All kind of investigations are controlled by only those police officers having allegiance to the ruling party. Hence people are deprived from independent investigation. The law and order under the rule of scam tainted Manik Sarkar had dipped all time low. The success rate of multiple police investigations is a big zero. Besides, the interference of CPI-M in Special Investigation Team (SIT) is hampering ongoing investigations. Also Manik Sarkar's puppet in-charge DGP K.Nagraj, against whom CBI inquiry is pending, reportedly wants to leave state for greener pasteurs .Seeing the present condition of Tripura Police, people doubt whether they have backbone or any desire to overcome ruling party's political pressure. They are just working as puppets in the hands of Melarmath, CPI-M party headquarter as every investigation is manipulated accordingly after getting direction from the CPI-M headquarter. Typical example is Rs 51 crore MGNREGA scam where Police did not file a chargesheet within 180 days against CM Manik Sarkar's close aide BDO Bimal Chakraborty so that scamster Bimal can be released from prison.

 Manik Sarkar is successful in controlling Tripura Police to such low end that Police prefers to dig every loophole in justice system to save ruling party criminals.

Earlier also, CPI-M tried to interference in the functioning  of police, but it was behind the curtain. But now the style of have changed. Now SIT is holding the reigns of all kind of investigiaton.

High Court of Tripura directed the state government   to constitute a SIT to investigate the NBFCs (non – banking financial companies) scam. Interestingly, the SIT is now interfering with all kinds of crimes related to petty theft and murder. They are taking over the investigation directly or indirectly.

It’s  an open  secret that all members including  the head  of SIT are loyal to ruling party. The members are of SIT selected by Melarmath not by DGP. It is quite obvious that SIT will work as per directives from the ruling party. The reign is in the hand of some top party leaders of CPI (M). 

Not a single case investigated by SIT tasted  success, there performance is duck. In recent times, number of  murder took place in the capital. At every case SIT jumped in to investigate, but every time returned   back with without any solution.
