TIWN

UDAIPUR / AGARTALA, Sept 3 (TIWN): CPI-M backed trade union strike paralysed towns and cities across Tripura. “In Gomati Dist, strike passed peacefully”, DM Gomati Sonal Goel told TIWN over phone. “All offices and schools had been closed and no information of disturbance yet”, she confirmed. On the other hand, Udaipur Youth Cong secretary Anup Sarkar blaming the ruling party members of Udaipur, told TIWN, “During the whole day, people were pressured by CPI-M cadres, and continuously kept their vigin over market places, so that the strike had to be observed forcefully”. “Kakrabon area and R.K.Pur area was the worst hit of CPI-M dominated strike, people were not even allowed to go out of their houses”, added Sarkar. He further mentioned that 2 murders which held within 2 km distance at Udaipur, on Tuesday night was as a part of a threat given to the public of Udaipur, and that was the cause of so called “Peaceful- strike”. DM Gomati denied that there is any relation between strike and those muders and said, “Murders are not related to strike anyway, both these are separate episodes”.But the mysterious murders and clue-less police force raised questions on the cause behind the murders. One of the deceased is identified as Raju Baishnav (45) and the body is recovered from Udaipur Mahadeb Bari area adjacent to the temple under R.K. Pur police station.

Sources said that few localites of the area spotted the body lying adjacent to Mahadeb Bari area on the stairs with serious injuries in his body especially in his head and throat and immediately informed at the West police station.

Another body had been found at a distance of half KM from Mahadeb Bari temple at East R.K.Pur girls school allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the corridor of the school. The deceased is identified as Nakul Chandra Sil (60), resident of Udaipur Fulkumari Poultry road area.

“These two murders are not so straight”, climed Anup Sarkar to TIWN. “This might be pre-planned event, after which pressure was created to observe strike and the incident take place just near to R.K.Pur P S.”, added.

However, sources confirmed that in R.K.Pur area CPI-M cadres had forced shopkeepers “not to sit” or keep their shops open. At early morning hours, few of the poor businessmen with vegetables or fishes sat beside the road and householders went to them to purchase items. Suddenly few young men (local CPI-M cadres) appeared there and behaved arrogantly, then forcefully sent back them to home. However, Police were standing before them.

It’s to be mentioned that 2 murders which tookplace on Tuesday night at R.K.Pur area and Matabari area accordingly, had kept Udaipur City shocked during the whole day, and people rather chosen to stay at home instead of go outside, informed sources.

How these murders could happen in close proximity of R.K.Pur P S, raised many questions.
