AGARTALA, August 31 (TIWN): Former militant of banned TNV (Tripura National Volunteers), currently the President of INPT Bijoy Kumar Hrangkhawal to be the interlocutor of peace talks worries Tripura Administration. Reacting to the decision of NLFT militants Chief Minister Manik Sarkar said, “We want peace and we do not have any problem if Hrangkhawal represents the NLFT in the peace talks.”

Sarkar said, “Because it clearly shows that B K Hrangkhawal has a close link with the NLFT yet today it can be assumed that under his leadership the hideouts in Bangladesh persists terrorism across the state.”

Sarkar said that very recently it has been learnt that the NLFT militants who are currently in peace talks with the centre and the state government wants Hrangkhawal their former leader and Mizoram former Chief Minister Zoramthanga to be part and represent the talks next.

Sarkar also said that so far no major fruitful output has come up during the already held peace talks. However interestingly Hrangkhawal later rubbishing the allegation of Sarkar managed to clarify,”I do not have any link with NLFT rather Sarlar is simply staging a malicious campaign against me.”

However, just after Sarkar on being asked said that the government has always been against any kind ceasefire with the NLFTs at least 2 Indian tribal villagers on Saturday noon were kidnapped by the hideouts NLFT militants from Bangladesh territory after the duo crossed the border due to the lack of fencing along the Indo-Bangla border under Dhalai District of the state.

The incident had however triggered a serious resentment among the locals but had also left a serious challenge for the government.
