AGARTALA, August 30 (TIWN): Terrible atrocities are committed against untold numbers of women around the state every day and for most of these women, justice will never be served with the incompetent police team of Tripura in the ever puffed golden era of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.

Raising voice against the innumerable atrocities done on the women, the NSUI on Saturday staged a massive protest rally in the city which moved across several parts of the streets.

Though women are being gradually recognized as important, powerful and meaningful contributors to the life of men; but some of the cruel practices thrive even today.

In spite of the legislative measures adopted in favour of women in our society after Independence, the spread of education and women’s gradual economic independence, countless women still continue to be victims of violence and extreme cruelty, said NSUI president Bapi das.

The rally began from Congress Bhawan and moved across several parts of the streets.

Bride burning, kidnapping, Rape and molestation, dowry killing, female infanticides, girl child killing all kind of atrocities are happening continuously in the state and police is simply playing the role of a silent spectator.

NSUI president Bapi Das further said that only because police is not playing their roles regularly the women of the state are suffering and are not getting justice as because it has come to notice that in many cases police denies filing complaint.

Protesting against the rising crime against the women the NSUI hold a massive rally in the city.

However, NSUI president Bapi Das, leader Rakesh das along with other dignitaries remained present in the program.
