ABVP demands for student election at Tripura University

AGARTALA, August 27 (TIWN): Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Thursday placed memorandum to the Vice-Canceller of Tripura University demanding to start student election in Tripura University as per Lyngdoh Commission which is according to the direction of the Supreme Court of India in matter of Special Leave Petition (Civil) to frame guidelines on Students Elections in Colleges and Universities.

Demanding for speed breaker in front of the University gate, they said that students are facing serious problem while crossing the road due to the absence of speed breaker.

They also demanded for sufficient number of vehicles for the students to reach the departments which are far from the gate. 

Besides, they urged fro sufficient number of bus facilities for the students for better communication.

However, highlighting the issue of Ph.D scholars, ABVP expressed that the research scholars are facing problems due to the slow process which need keen eye by the authority to make the process of Ph.D completion fast.

Further, the members demanded to increase the time limit for the students residing in the hostel as they had to do late studies in the library.

However, The PG Women’s hostel demanded subsidy for gas from the university authority for running mess and many others.
