AGARTALA, August 24 (TIWN): A violent group of youths belonging to IPFT roaming, disrupting public life with barbaric shouting, scaring people at capital of Tripura demanding a new state on Sunday. Manik’s police force was just standing as puppet watching the unruly mob disrupting public life in Agartala. IPFT with their violent barbaric outlook openly shouted at the city participating in a rally in demand of a separate state. Manik Sarkar however now-a-days blaming the opposition parties to neighboring Bangladeshi fundamentalist elements for nurturing NLFT, but in matter of his own state Chief Minister is silent with similar disturbing groups which has again proved like IPFT demanded for a separate state and unrest across the State. Reportedly, in some places some of the youths in uncontrolled situation were harassing people, drinking liquor from soda bottles, scared shopkeepers complained before the police.But police played different roles in same day at two different places. Police were hyper active when NSUI staged dharna in front of Manik Dey’s home. At the same time with violent IPFT youths, police were just mute spectators as instructed by CPI-M honchos to keep tribal vote bank intact.

Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) organized a rally in Agartala on Sunday demanding for a separate state.The party IPFT is so much eager to achieve ‘Twipra-land’ with areas under tribal autonomous district council to protect the rights and identity of Tripura’s tribal population.

Their rally also followed by a mass demonstration at Vivekananda stadium.

“Whatever we are demanding is not out of law, our motherland is our right”, said party President Narendra Chandra Debbarma in the rally at Vivekananda stadium.

It has also been announced at that demonstration that the Tribals are going to start awareness campaign programmes to encourage the all Tribal people.

While the party has been raging with movement for concentrated development of tribals since the past few years, the govt. is silent.  Tribal vote bank in the 2015  to 2018 may be concerning CM and thus they had been allowed to go for a mass rally in showing their half nude baby.

However it is to be mentioned that the indigenous people in Tripura are the most underdeveloped people till now. The unequal development is quite visible in hilly areas dominated by them. We are the original inhabitants of Tripura.And our demand is for the development of the indigenous people,” said IPFT president NC Debbarma while speaking.

IPFT which is known as a hardliner party and often blamed for its alleged soft stance on extremist movements is clearly trying to woo the tribal society after years of political isolation.

On Sunday those people who came in protest were mainly youths, which is really a matter of concern a youths are the future of Nation.

The symbol “T”, which the youth paint on their chest, was in support of state demand.
