Gautam also gave his statement. With this recording of statements of all witnesses related to the murder case was completed after three long decades.
As per direction of High Court of Tripura, out of 21 accused, 17 were present in the additional distirct session court. They were directed to appear in  court on schedule day, if failed to appear non – bailable warrant will be issued against the accused.
It is to noted that  Chief Justice Deepak Kumar Gupta  slammed the inordinate delay in a 32-year-old murder case and issued notices to the law secretary and a host of other officials to furnish their replies in the next hearing on July 15.
On April 7, 1983, within three months of the Assembly election held in January that year that Saha, elected from Charilam constituency in then West Tripura district, had been brutally hacked to death in broad daylight at Office Tilla under Bishalgarh police station.

The murder had rocked Tripura and a weeklong agitation by the Congress to press for punishment of the culprits continued. But nothing came of the investigation ordered by the then chief minister Nripen Chakraborty and an inquiry headed by late DSP Ramnarayan Chakraborty, which listed 26 CPM cadres as culprits but the trial made no progress.
