AGARTALA, August 11 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Monday inaugurated the two-day long programme of Bharat-Bangladesh Bachik Utsav and the 3rd Annual programme of Shruti, a cultural organization at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhawan.
Speaking at the inauguration program, CM Manik Sarkar said that Indo-Bangla relationship, especially Bangladesh’s Relation with Tripura is a bond of friendship. And in the coming days this relationship will further develop.
Information and Cultural Affairs minister Bhanulal Saha said that Tripura is a land of culture and every time culture is being practiced in the state with enthusiasm.
ONGC Asset Manager S C Soni remained present as the special guest. However, Mayor of AMC Dr Prafullajit Sinha presided over the inauguration programme.
Group and solo recitation on Bengali, Kokbarak, Manipuri, Chakma and Mog languages was performed during the programme. Apart from all these, several cultural programmes was performed and several other are scheduled for the second day of the program.
Eminent artists from both India and Bangladesh comprising of Laila Aafroz of Dhaka, Rashed Hassan of Chattogram, Monir Hassan, Bachir Dulal and Rokeya Dostogeer of Brahmanbaria, and Manoj Deb of Silchar along with well-known artists from the state- Uttam Chakraborty, Subhra Dhar, Baishayampayan Chakraborty and Smita Bhattacharjee performed recitation in the programme.
