KAMALPUR, August 9 (TIWN): A road of about hundred metres of length could not be kept in good condition in this administration of so-called ‘golden regime’. And the concerned authority got busy in using the road to pocket profit by yearly renovation works. This tradition of ‘unique’ state continued here at Kamalpur. And mysteriously, the ‘self styled guide of the society’, the politicians shamelessly watching the scenario.

The road attaching Kamalpur-Ambassa road with BSM Hospital from Netaji corner would be almost hundred to hundred twenty metres in length. Actually the road passed through the old hospital area between the quarter complexes to the bye-pass road in front of the hospital.Every day lots of people including patients, patient-parties, school students, professionals and commoners ply over the road.

 Huge numbers of vehicles also move on the road. But none of the user could have a happy smile after crossing the road. The entire road got filled with ditches and pit-holes. The ditches got extending each day intensifying the problem. It seemed that the road was last renovated decades ago.

But actually, it would not be even a year that the road was newly renovated and carpeted. The contractors did their work at their will. Several times the locales protested against the quality of the work. But the PWD(R&B) authority not paid any heed to those protests.

Now, the road once again got ready for renovation and probably the authority would be happy enough in planning ways to pocket profit from this work. After all Puma, the greatest festival of the Bengali got almost knocking at the door! However, the Nagar Panchayat authority also remained in slumber in the matter.
