AGARTALA, August 6 (TIWN): Demanding to set off Street Vendor Act 2014 in the state, Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress on Wednesday staged four hours mass demonstration at Paradise Choumuhani.
During the demonstration, the members of the union said that with regular respect a town building committee should be made immediately.
To facilitate the hawkers so that they can continue their business in the footpath a building zone should be made and there should be no intervention of the state government, said member of TNTTUC Biplab Kar.
Without giving proper place to hawkers to continue their business, they cannot be evicted from their place where they seat for their earning, demanded the member Kar.
The State Government should bring the footpath hawkers under the umbrella of Health Insurance.
They further demanded to provide financial support to the Hawkers, to set up a Human Rights Commission in the state, to taken a strict initiative to give proper justice to the Chit Fund victims, to take fruitful initiatives for the landless people.
The Union also demanded to take initiatives for the Government Pensioners and PSU and many other.
