AGARTALA, August 4 (TIWN): The unruly decision of the government leads the patients to suffer immensely in and around the state.

With the aim to impose pressure on the decision of the HC of Tripura, the Government doctors have curtailed private practice raising the rush of the patients in the hospitals.

Large queue of patients along with their relatives was seen in front of the government hospital since the doctors has kept their chambers shut down from August 1.

A vast number of patients in the hospital alleged that the doctors are showing negligence attitude towards treating the patients.

Allegedly, the doctors are misbehaving with the patients to show their anger on the decision of the HC.

It is to be mention here that the health department has asked the government doctors to submit an affidavit to show compliance with the direction of the HC of the Tripura. However, the doctors did not submit any affidavit and decided to curtail the chamber business.

The government doctors of Tripura have adopted a cheating strategy to legitimize their unruly demand for continuing their private practices in the state besides, pressurizing the government to press for their demand.

Despite certain restriction imposed by the High Court of Tripura to reduce the hours of private practices and to dedicate more time in hospital services, the doctors have been bargaining with the state government to retain the service in chamber.

The HC also banned government doctors from having any engagement with private hospitals, nursing homes and laboratories.

If all the doctors provide full-fledged services in the government hospital round the corner the service of the government hospital will be improved and the people of Tripura will get the improved facilities of treatment in the state.

However, the doctors adopted a cheating tactic to legitimize their illegal demand and said that the salary provided the government is not satisfactory.  They further demanded hike in gross salary by 25 percent and only then they will stop the private practice.

In order to fill their own pockets and meet their commercial needs, the doctors treat the patients longer than necessary, and prescribe expensive medicines and instructs for several diagnosis from particular laboratory suggested by the doctors.

It shows that medical profession has become a business where the doctor uses the disease of the patients as their source of income.

Allegedly, the pharma companies have been paying doctor’s lakhs of rupees as well as gifting them cars and flats and sponsoring family foreign trips in return for prescribing its medicines even though cheaper alternatives from better known companies are available.
